500 years ago, the kingdom collapsed into 6 factions, all of which are fighting to become the new ruler of the realm.
Altland, now the seat of the false king, is a shell of its former glory. Once the seat of the High King of Glanodel, it rests at the center of the conflict, facing incursions on all sides, unfortunately for its people. But if there's one thing the false king does well, it's wage war.
Norfeld, once a proud people of the northernmost lands in the realm and a bridge between humans and dwarves, have all become as reclusive as the dwarves themselves. The White Knights, a name given to the armies of Norfeld by their enemies, have managed to maintain one of the largest forces in the land, mainly because most other armies, not use to the cold, can't reach them. Lucky for us, they appear to prefer their mountains and snow.
Hure, once the most dedicated admirers of the elves and the most cultured of all the provinces, has fallen to ruin, and uses the great gift of magic, granted to them by the elves long ago, to destroy their enemies in battle. They've taken the shimmering wonders of the elves, and turned it into the Dark Arts. I even hear that they raise soldiers from the places they died, to continue fighting after they've fallen.

Then there is Perrel, the home of the family which gave birth to the true king's wife, now dead. Once retired and out of use after such a long time of peace, the mighty seize towers and catapults that brought the strongest of castles to their knees and made the Perrish Armies a feared force in the realm, are now being used once again as they march across the lands.
The lord of Cari and his mighty army have risen once again. This is the army that first enlisted the help of the orcs, and this tactic has proven as lethal as any magic the Hurians can muster. But I've heard at times, the soldiers fear the orcs as much as the enemies.
Kova, possibly the most vile of the provinces, has seen fit to enlist the help of the Monsters. No one knows how they've managed to control them, but excluding a few mishaps in battle, they are managing to use the Monsters of the Woods as attack dogs, and mounts, riding into battle, terrorizing enemy forces. They are now the most feared army in the realm, though they are the smallest forces by human soldiers.
